Tool Time/Game Time

Wal-Mart had a special on games where preschool games were packaged together and priced ridiculously low. I got Hi Ho Cherry-O, Memory, Chutes and Ladders, and Candyland for less than $20. We've been playing a lot of Candyland so to add some variety, we learned how to play Hi Ho Cherry-O. Joseph won both times and we didn't even try to lose! It's really kind of a game of luck but it made him feel very good.

Joe is trying to get garage in order for our large holiday gathering in December so he's working on a tool bench. Joseph likes to help his dad and so Joe let him sand the table before staining it. He will be a master woodworker just like his dad and great grandpa Jack!

Driving Lessons

Lory and Joe gave us their ride-on lawn mower. Joe had to pay $10 to fix it and that makes it the least expensive lawn mower in the history of gardens! He took Joseph out after school on Friday and let him steer. He had such a good time! He was running around the house talking about it all night. I didn't think Joey was really letting Joseph steer but when I questioned him he held his hands up in the air! A bit scary, really.

Fried Goodness

Mmmmmm! Biscuit goodness!

Colonel Sanders has nothing on Joe!

The perfect anniversary present in action!

Customers patiently waiting for the grub.

Joe is the best cook I know. He loves trying new recipes and has a way of making them perfect even the first time around! I abhor reading recipes, preparing ingredients, and cleaning up but Joe enjoys it all and he's so efficient!

Hawaiian Delicacies

If you grew up on Hawaiian Sun like I did, you can NEVER overpay for this stuff. ($20 for a 24-pack? Can we get a Longs Drug Store over here?)

He's definitely MY son- loving seasoned seaweed!

Love, love, LOVE ramen!

Relishing the aroma of a newly opened container or nori.

This Veterans Day we celebrated by relaxing all day. We started to feel as though the day was slipping from us so we got in the car and did some exploring. We came across an "Asian" food store and indulged in some Hawaiian delicacies: Strawberry Hi-Chew, seasoned nori, li hing mui sour apples, ramen, and Guava Hawaiian Sun. After exploring our new town, we went to dinner at Amy's on the Bay. Yummy! Joey had a delicious Clam Chowder in a bread bowl, Joseph had fish and chips, and I had a nice fresh garden salad. I love holidays!

Happy Anniversary

This year marks 6 years since Joe and I have been married. While we were in Connecticut, Joe took me to Tiffany & Co. to choose a gift! I've had my eye on this piece for many years and was excited to finally get it in the mail.

The day was spent shopping and relaxing! I got Joe a cast-iron skillet because he's wanted it forever and it will make his fried chicken EVEN better if that's possible. We had dinner at Mana Sushi in Port Orchard. It was oishii!!!! Joseph said, "Happy Anniversary, guys!" He's such a cutie!

Every Hope

We took Joseph to the Museum of Flight near Seattle this weekend and he had such a great time! To say that Joseph loves airplanes doesn't accurately describe his fervor. That being said, we knew this experience would certainly be enjoyable for him. As a parent, I feel it's imperative to nurture interests such as these. I get caught up in predicting his future occupation but all I can really hope for is that he's healthy, happy, and making a positive impact on the world.
